Capt. Brian’s Photo Shoot

Capt. Brian’s Photo Shoot

I needed to take photos of myself  doing things I do, for this photo shoot. As easy as it seems, it always feels awkward. However, there was nothing awkward about the last photos of the clouds falling from the sky and myself in front of the storm. Fortunately, Mick Jagger sang me through the storm humming something about giving me shelter before I fade away. Thank you Mick.

I have been a Shelling Guide to Cayo Costa State Park since 1995. Many people know me as the Shelling Guide and Captain with Captiva Cruises over the past 20 years. In 2016 I began solely offering private small boat charters to the islands of Pine Island Sound including Cayo Costa State Park, Cabbage Key, Useppa Island, Pine Island and North Captiva. I am a certified Florida Master Naturalist, licensed USCG Captain, avocational photographer, seashell enthusiast and passionate about the history, people and culture of Southwest Florida, especially Cayo Costa. I volunteer as a member of Friends of Cayo Costa State Park and have great respect for the heritage of Cayo Costa. My goal is to provide guests with an overall experience and appreciation for the waters, islands, shells, plants, marine life, wildlife, history and people of this unique area of Southwest Florida.

Great pics as usual. The action shots are fun. I really like the one of you pushing the paddle board from behind. We saw a guy yesterday with your straw hat on and Chablis and I both said at the same time "Hey, he looks like Capt. Brian!"

Hey, that thunderstorm looks familiar. It chased us off the beach 30 miles north of you. I was thinking you should do a book of your photography but after seeing these pics you should just go straight to your own line of cologne 😀

Man, I've been wanting to try Yolo boarding more and more. I guess I'm just going to go have to rent one. Yaking is getting a little old.

I enjoy stand up paddle boarding. The board I use is made in Maui. It is called Hooked Up. I have used yolo boards but I enjoy the ease and stability of the hooked up board. But the bottom line is however you get on the water is all good. Just get there.
