Last spring I took out the members of the Ft. Myers camera club. The president of the club asked me to do a talk about what I do on the water. Tonight I  gave a thirty minute PowerPoint  to the club. My daughter was extremely helpful in this project. She helped set up the PowerPoint and sat with me looking at over three thousand photos giving me the nod on which pictures were good and why.( I used 50 pictures in the Power Point) She has a great eye for photography and colors in the natural world. Tonight she was the AV tech and photographer for dad. She did a great job and took all of the above photos with a D300 Nikon manually. The club asked me to do another PowerPoint in January. Looks like it is time to get out there and start taking more photos.

I have been a Shelling Guide to Cayo Costa State Park since 1995. Many people know me as the Shelling Guide and Captain with Captiva Cruises over the past 20 years. In 2016 I began solely offering private small boat charters to the islands of Pine Island Sound including Cayo Costa State Park, Cabbage Key, Useppa Island, Pine Island and North Captiva. I am a certified Florida Master Naturalist, licensed USCG Captain, avocational photographer, seashell enthusiast and passionate about the history, people and culture of Southwest Florida, especially Cayo Costa. I volunteer as a member of Friends of Cayo Costa State Park and have great respect for the heritage of Cayo Costa. My goal is to provide guests with an overall experience and appreciation for the waters, islands, shells, plants, marine life, wildlife, history and people of this unique area of Southwest Florida.

    Congrats to you both! She did a GREAT job helping dad! And you get to do another in January..yahoo..we will have to see when we go out on our trip if we can find u some good photo moments! : D

    Will the depths of Salty's skill sets never end! If only every kid had parents like you and Melanie that not only encouraged their kid's interests & talents but celebrated them. I still see that coffee table book but it's looking more like a family project.

    Your so right Moi..that would be so cool. When you get official date Brain and if it turns out to be when we are there I will be there!! Jan 7-11..If its on the 6th I can be there to cause i will be in Tampa!
